Becker's Healthcare recently released its 2024 list of 150-plus top places to work in health care in the nation. One Hawaii health care system made the list.

According to Becker’s Hospital Review list, which was created from nominations and editorial research, the ranking reflects health care companies and organizations "that prioritize workplace excellence and the happiness, satisfaction, well-being and fulfillment of their employees," its website states.

"These organizations offer robust benefits packages, professional and personal development opportunities, diverse work environments and the resources necessary for work-life balance. When employees feel respected and cared for, their organizations thrive – and these companies are prime examples of this golden rule. Many of these companies have a deep impact on their communities as well, providing volunteer opportunities and emphasizing social responsibility," Becker's Healthcare continued.

Representing the only health care system on the list from the Aloha State was Hawaii Pacific Health.

As one of the state's largest health care systems, Hawaii Pacific Health "provides employees with the opportunity to work in modern medical facilities, face challenges that help them grow professionally and personally and collaborate with like-minded teammates to make a measurable difference," its bio read. "Employees receive medical and prescription drug coverage, dental, vision, flexible spending accounts, paid time off, online training programs, free access to full textbooks and journals, tuition reimbursement, professional development programs and more. Team members also benefit from living and working in Hawaii, with over 70 care locations across the state. In addition, it serves a diverse population, with 24% of Hawaii residents identifying as multiracial."

Another thing that sets Hawaii Pacific Health apart from the rest, according to its entry, is "its status as a nonprofit organization, reinvesting all earnings back into medical equipment, facilities, research, education, training and charity care for the underserved."

Local organizations such as March of Dimes Hawaii, Feed The Hunger Fund and Hawaii Community Lending are just a few nonprofit beneficiaries of Hawaii Pacific Health within the last year, as previously reported by Pacific Business News. For more about the organization's giving model, click here.

Hawaii Pacific Health was also named one of the "best employers in the state" for 2023, according to Forbes.
